Klaxons’ Jamie Reynolds meets Revolutionary Filmmaker Jack Bond

September 17, 2010 by Rich Leave a Comment

Having long been a fan of the work of Jack Bond, Klaxons vocalist Jamie Reynolds was lucky enough to meet up with the filmmaker, with their meeting having been put to film in a two-part video.

Meeting up, talking about art and drinking together, Jack Bond and Jamie Reynolds ultimately end up at a fun fair and head for the teacups.

Having not released a new album since debut ‘Myths of the Near Future‘ smashed the charts and spawned several successful singles back in 2007, Klaxons is now returning with second album ‘Surfing the Void‘ all set for release on August 23rd.

Produced in LA by Ross Robinson (Sepultura, Slipknot, At the Drive In, The Cure), Klaxons is sure to have much to offer with ‘Surfing the Void‘ and the ten track album is bound to go down a storm with those that loved the band’s last release.

‘Echoes‘ has been chosen to be the lead single for the album and will see its release through Polydor on August 16th.

The follow is the full track listing for the ‘Surfing the Void‘ studio album:

  1. Echoes
  2. The Same Space
  3. Surfing The Void
  4. Valley of The Calm Trees
  5. Venusia

Klaxons – It’s Not Over Yet

June 25, 2007 by Rich Leave a Comment

Having just played Glastonbury this weekend, today sees the release of Klaxons cover of mid nineties dance floor filler ‘It’s Not Over Yet’. The track is already a live favourite amongst fans of the band and it’s not hard to see why – this is a brilliantly energetic, uplifting and clearly loving cover of this Grace track from a band with an obvious love of all things dance. ‘Myths Of The Near Future’ was a great debut album from the band which has gone on to sell over a quarter of a million copies, and if asked to name the standout tracks, this one would without a doubt be on the list of most. I tend not to be a fan of covers as generally they’re just not even remotely in the same league as the original, but in this instance a successful cover has definitely been pulled off. Get your glowsticks at the ready; I can see this one becoming one of the definitive summer anthems of 2007.

Klaxons – Golden Skans

January 23, 2007 by Rich Leave a Comment

I hate the Nu Rave scene that Klaxons seem to be a part of, however these feelings aside, ‘Golden Skans’ is a really catchy track and will surely see the band enjoy a great deal of success from it. This one has such a catchy chorus to it, strong verses and a knack for getting stuck in your head for days on end. I often find myself singing along and can’t seem to free myself from this infectious gem of a track. Released January 22nd through Polydor, come this Sunday ‘Golden Skans’ is sure to achieve a commendable chart entry. If it doesn’t then there is something seriously wrong with the music industry today as this track has enjoyed a large degree of radio airplay and has one of the catchiest choruses I have heard in years. 2007 is sure to be the year that Klaxons hit the big time, and with their album due for release on the 29th of January; it is bound to go down as one of the best releases of the year.
