Dear Superstar

Dear Superstar – Promo EP

June 26, 2007 by Rich Leave a Comment

I have had a love of this band since I first heard their ‘Submission Of Your Soul ‘ EP back in March 2005 and always said they were going to be massive. It hasn’t happened yet, but mark my words; it will. There is just something about the balls-out rock of this band that makes them stand tall above all other UK rock bands out there at the moment. This latest promo EP showcases 3 new tracks of theirs and as ever they are sounding amazing. Strong guitar riffs, and a killer vocal attack on every track – this EP is yet another gem of a CD from the band and further emphasises my point that this band will be famous. ‘Diseased and Distracted’ kicks the three track off perfectly with incredible style, power and energy. Right from the opening guitar riff you’re hooked, and from this point forward you’re taken through an epic three minutes of rock perfection. ‘LiveLoveLie’ and ‘Signposts to Bedposts’ are equally impressive tracks showing the bands fine ear for creating powerful rock music, both with highly memorable choruses and superb vocal flair. With anthems you can already imagine a sold out Wembley Arena crowd singing along to, for Dear Superstar the big time is drawing ever closer.

Dear Superstar – Confessions Of A Twisted Mind

June 7, 2006 by Rich Leave a Comment

I first heard this band just over a year ago when I heard their ‘Submission Of Your Soul’ EP, and was extremely impressed with what the band had to offer. By some stroke of a miracle, the band are still unsigned, and so have self produced and financed this album, once again showing their intense talent and keen ear for a brilliant rock song. These self confessed sleaze rockers have here written an album that has all the intensity of the live setting captured on CD.

There are so many great tracks on display here, right from anthemic opener ‘Sunset Strip Suicide,’ to the colossal closer of ‘Little Devil.’ The band have your full attention from the offset, and as the album progresses seem to gather momentum and really come into their stride. By the time ‘Confessions Of A Twisted Mind’ kicks in, the band are really coming into their own and have carved out a perfect little niche for themselves. The opening riffs to this storming little number are epic and really show Dear Superstar to be an impressive band more than worthy of your time. They crash through this track with great vocal styling and awesome guitar licks that Motley Crue would be proud of.

Just when you think things can’t get any better, the band crack into the awesome duo of songs ‘What You Want’ and ‘Submission.’ Just when things are coming to an end and you’re expecting the album to wind down a bit, the band continues to impress and blast through another impressive pair of tracks. Both of these tracks have a hefty bite and of course the trademark Dear Superstar killer chords. The band just never fails to impress, taking every opportunity possible to blast out another display of ballsy sleaze rock n roll gold. Lyrically and musically, this band really do have something special going on and that is as clear as day.

‘Confessions Of A Twisted Mind’ is a testament to just what you can achieve if you really put your mind to it. Despite being an unsigned band, Dear Superstar have managed to produce and release a brilliant album which will surely be adored by all those that get the opportunity to hear it. I am certain that with such an amazing album behind them, this band can go on to achieve great things in the not too distant future. If they have ambition and drive to match their song writing ability then they will definitely hit the big time by the end of 2006, I know I said this about 2005 but for some strange reason the band have yet to make it massive but surely their talent can not go unnoticed for yet another year.

  4. Days Of Yesterday

Dear Superstar – Submission Of Your Soul

March 6, 2005 by Rich Leave a Comment

When this CD first came through the post I really didn’t know what I was going to make of them – the band are currently unsigned, yet in this press pack a photo of the band was supplied. I’m always a bit wary when this happens because it probably means that the band are taking themselves way too seriously and think they’re better than they really are having only played a few gigs. However, when I looked at and read through the press pack I discovered that this band have been together now for eight years and upon listening to the CD discovered that they really should be signed to some kind of major by now.

Dear Superstar play an energetic, and emotionally driven brand of Metal which is extremely exciting to listen to. The energy from the band really transpires through, and makes you feel highly excited as you listen to this fine CD. There are 5 tracks on display here, and not a single one of them will leave you disappointed. This band really do have a fine talent and it really shines through on this EP – the band have obviously put a lot of time and effort into it, and as a result they have created one of the finest CDs that I have heard in a long time. Opener ‘Sunset Suicide’ is a modern day classic with its driving guitars, fine bass lines, awesome drum work, and perfect vocals. It is well worth checking out – it kicks the CD off in style and really leaves you wanting more. Luckily, the excitement doesn’t stop here, and the band go on to play their way through another four tracks extremely well, never failing to put a smile on your face.

Dear Superstar are a band well worth looking out for in the future – I swear that before long this band will be huge. They played a date with The*GA*GA*s back in November so it looks like for this band, the revolution has already begun. If they’re not huge by the end of 2005 then there’s something seriously up with the music industry as this band have got it all – amazing guitars, genius lyrics, real heartfelt emotion, and killer, highly memorable choruses. There’s really no flawing this band, everything on display in this EP seems to be spot on – I really don’t know how the band are going to top this CD.
