Jon Gomm to release ‘Secrets Nobody Keeps’ Album on November 25th

September 20, 2013 by Rich Leave a Comment

Jon Gomm Secrets Nobody Keeps Tour

Having fan funded the album via PledgeMusic in just 4 weeks, independent musician Jon Gomm has announced that his ‘Secrets Nobody Keeps‘ studio album is to be officially released on November 25th.

Currently halfway through a 30 date UK tour, Jon Gomm has built up an extremely loyal and dedicated following over the course of the past decade or so, demonstrating this fact superbly with the fantastic success of his PledgeMusic campaign earlier this year.

Gomm had the following to say on the success and support of his PledgeMusic campaign and the whirlwind 18 months he has just experienced:

The success of the PledgeMusic campaign has been so gratifying. People tell me I’m too open on social networks, but I lived through all these overwhelming life-changes online, taking support from my friends and fans.

The last 18 months have been a genuine headf**k. I’d gotten used to my life playing little DIY venues then ‘Passionflower’ went crazy and suddenly I’m on TV, or flying off all over the world, or playing at Union Chapel in London and it’s actually sold out.

Having worked on the album with the producer Whiskas, Jon Gomm will now be looking forward to getting his music out there, and fans of the man will no doubt be extremely excited to hear this new album when it lands at the end of November.

Mutant Football League attempting Kickstarter Comeback

September 20, 2013 by Rich Leave a Comment

Mutant Football League Image

Twenty years on from the release of the original Mutant League Football game on the Sega Mega Drive, game creator Michael Mendheim is now seeking to reboot the franchise with a fresh release of the game for PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, iOS, and Android.

In order to fulfil the ambition of releasing a new version of the game complete with new storyline, characters and environments, Michael Mendheim is hoping to raise $750,000 via Kickstarter by October 16th 2013 so that the game can once again be enjoyed by the masses.

Due to its original popularity back in the early 1990s, Mutant League Football spwaned a spin-off in Mutant League Hockey, and there were also plans to release a third game in the franchise in Mutant League Basketball. Whilst Mutant League Basketball never came to fruition, Michael Mendheim is now hoping that Mutant Football League can raise the money required to continue the Mutant League legacy, and has already established a strong team of individuals ready and willing to get to work on the franchise reboot if/when the Kickstarter campaign hits the $750,000 target, with an expected turnaround time of 14 to 18 months once they get the ball rolling.

By contributing to the Mutant Football League Kickstarter campaign you can help make this happen, turning the hope and dream of seeing a new Mutant League game released a reality.

Football Manager 2014 Release Date Announced

September 19, 2013 by Rich Leave a Comment

Football Manager 2014

Sports Interactive has officially announced that Football Manager 2014 is all set for release on October 31st.

Just like last year, a beta version of the game will be made available around 2 weeks prior to the release date for those that pre-order the game to receive early access. The beta will be close to the final release version, however, Sports Interactive will continue working on the game in the fortnight prior to the game’s release so that any bug reports generated during this period can be worked upon ready for the official release date. Any career started during the beta period will be transferable to the full game when it’s released on October 31st.

Having previously only been playable for those working within the Mac and Windows operating systems, Football Manager 2014 will mark the first game in the franchise to also be playable on Linux.

With cloud saving now available, this therefore means that if you have several laptops/computers that you use, you can save your game to the cloud and happily carry on playing the same save on another computer without having to worry about transferring the files from computer to computer every time you want to play your save game on another system. As long as you’re connected to the internet you’ll be able to save your game to the cloud, and this therefore makes things far more straightforward for those that enjoy the game on more than one system.

You can watch the latest official announcement video below to learn more about the new features and functions of Football Manager 2014:

Giants Release Weezer ‘Hashpipe’ Cover for Free Download

September 17, 2013 by Rich Leave a Comment

Giants Hashpipe Weezer Cover

UK punk band Giants have recorded a cover of Weezer’s ‘Hashpipe‘, included on the ‘Nevermind The SOUNDLAB‘ covers compilation which is currently available for free download.

The band had the following to say about their decision to record a Weezer cover:

Weezer were always one of our favourite bands when we were growing up, mainly because they did whatever the hell they wanted with their music and their videos and they never took themselves too seriously, which is something we think there needs to be more of nowadays. We had a lot of fun re-working a classic into our own style by punking it up a bit. Hopefully we didn’t completely piss on it for any die hard Weezer heads out there!

Giants’ ‘Hashpipe‘ cover will also feature on the band’s Double A Side 7″ vinyl which is to be released on September 30th, with the 7″ available for pre-order right now from the Giants Bandcamp page.
