Valve to release Steam Machines in 2014

September 26, 2013 by Rich Leave a Comment

Steam Machines

Bringing PC style gaming to the living room, Valve is to release a variety of Steam gaming machines in 2014, all running a new gaming operating system known as SteamOS.

According to the information provided by Valve, there will be multiple SteamOS machines to choose from, made by different manufacturers, and 300 beta participants will be chosen at random to test out SteamOS, taking advantage of a high-performance prototype in order to test out the system prior to its full release and provide important user feedback on how the system is functioning.

Whilst the system will be able to be controlled via mouse and keyboard input, it has also been optimised to work well with gamepads, allowing users the creative freedom to choose between typical console gameplay and more conventional PC gaming methods.

Full information is provided on the website about how to make yourself eligible to become a SteamOS beta tester.

Reggie And The Full Effect to release new album on November 18th

September 20, 2013 by Rich Leave a Comment

Reggie And The Full Effect No Country For Old Musicians

Five years on from 2008s ‘Last Stop: Crappy Town‘, Reggie And The Full Effect will release a new album on November 18th as the result of an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign to get the album financed.

‘No Country For Old Musicians’ is the name of the new album, a sixteen track studio album which is to be released via Pure Noise Records. This album is therefore the first Reggie And The Full Effect album since his 1999 debut ‘Greatest Hits 1984-1987‘ not to receive its initial release via Vagrant Records.

James Dewees had the following to say about returning to his Reggie And The Full Effect project and recording this new album:

Writing and recording Reggie And The Full Effect for me is like finding your best friends again after years of being away and being able to pick up right where you left off… and they brought snacks.
