Legend Bowl is coming to console on August 9th

July 20, 2023 by Rich Leave a Comment

Having been available on PC for a few years now; the deep-simulation American Football game Legend Bowl is officially also coming to console this summer, touching down on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and One, and Nintendo Switch on August 9th.

Seen as somewhat of a spiritual successor to Tecmo Bowl (which originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System over 30 years ago now), Legend Bowl allows you to create your own coach and take charge of one of 32 unique teams in a quest to take them to glory. You can manage your own stadium facilities, team rosters and player’s needs, and throughout the off season you’ll get to attend to matters such as retirements, free agency, player progression, and even a full 7 round draft.

Franchise mode is clearly an extremely deep and integral part of Legend Bowl, enabling the complete customisation of players, coaches, and teams to create your very own dream league.

If the extreme depth of franchise mode isn’t really your thing though then you can also dip your toes into Legend Bowl’s exhibition mode for singular matches against a friend or the CPU, or have some quick fun with 16 team bracket style tournaments.

If you’re tired of the modern Madden games (or a Nintendo Switch user where Madden isn’t even an option) then Legend Bowl is definitely a game to strongly consider, and at the very least I highly recommend checking out the announcement trailer below:

7 Confirmed New Features for EA Sports FC 24 Career Mode

July 19, 2023 by Rich Leave a Comment

Today we’re going to be taking a look at 7 confirmed features for EA Sports FC 24 Career Mode.

Total Management System

Including the brand new total management system, providing you with more control than ever before over exactly how your team plays, allowing you to focus on different tactical visions for your club such as tiki-taka, gegenpress, and park the bus.

Ability to Hire Coaches

And the new total management system will also go hand in hand with the freshly added ability to hire different coaches in the game in order to compliment your tactical vision.

Dynamic Moments

Dynamic moments will provide you with more realistic detail in those all important moments throughout your career, with open top parades through the city for example which will help add a bit of character when you win a trophy, and Ballon d’Or cut scenes which should help things feel especially real when you reach the peak of your powers in player career.

Match Ready Training

Training has also been tweaked, enabling you to set individual and team training plans to ensure that players are entering matches with maximum sharpness, and even allowing you to activate temporary PlayStyle boosts to players to help assist you in each match.

Spectate Mode

Spectate mode meanwhile will provide a more Football Manager style approach should you so wish, setting and tweaking your tactics throughout the match, just as a manager might in real life.

Player Agent Feature

Whilst in player career you will now have an agent that will attempt to help guide you through your career, offering advice over potential transfer moves etc. and setting you objectives and targets to try and achieve as you seek to reach the top level possible as a player.

Play As Player Camera

A new camera angle has also been added, enabling you to become the focal point of every match as you look down at the ball at your feet, fully immersed in the virtual world of football.

Are there any features that you’d like to see added to EA Sports FC career mode in the future?

Everything We Know About EA Sports FC 24 for the Nintendo Switch

July 14, 2023 by Rich Leave a Comment

For the past few years, FIFA fans on the Nintendo Switch have had to settle for a ‘legacy edition’ of their favourite football game, featuring the same gameplay features and modes since FIFA 19, without any new development or significant enhancements.

There had been hope that perhaps things would change for the freshly rebranded EA Sports FC, however, and we do now know that, for the first time in years, the Nintendo Switch version of the game has received some serious upgrades.

For the first time in the series, the game will now be running on the Frostbite Engine, and with that comes the inclusion of PlayStyles optimised by Opta, a brand new addition across all platforms that will provide heightened authenticity in terms of how players look, feel and play.

Volta and Clubs will also both be coming to the Nintendo Switch for the very first time, you’ll be able to develop your own club legends in Ultimate Team with the inclusion of Evolutions (enabling you to complete a set of objectives to improve a players overall rating and help keep them competitive throughout the year), and you’ll also now be able to add women’s footballers to your Ultimate Team squads, creating your dream XI from a mix of both men’s and women’s footballers.

Rivals, Champs and Squad Battles will also all be present in Ultimate Team this year, and all of these various updates and additions should surely help make EA Sports FC 24 for the Nintendo Switch stand out strongly as a substantial upgrade over its predecessors.

EA Sports FC 24 for the Nintendo Switch is officially set for release on September 29th.

June 29, 2023 by Rich Leave a Comment

Arcade style American football fun is all set to return later this year, as Saber Interactive (who previously brought us such titles as NBA Playgrounds and WWE Battlegrounds) prepares to unleash Wild Card Football upon the world.

Wild Card Football will provide 7-on-7 American football action, enabling you to create your very own dream team (choosing from hundreds of real life pro players).

The game will feature power-ups, the ability to create custom team logos/uniforms, and if you’re a fan of games like NFL Blitz, Mutant Football League and Mario Strikers? Wild Card Football should certainly be of appeal!

Wild Card Football is officially set to release for PS5/PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on October 10th, and if you’d like to see what sort of thing you can expect from the game? I’d highly recommend checking out the official announcement trailer below:

Riders Republic gets a skateboarding update this September

June 13, 2023 by Rich Leave a Comment

Season 8 is coming to Riders Republic this September, complete with a brand new skateboarding add-on that’ll allow you to live out your childhood dreams of becoming the next Rodney Mullen.

With the game already allowing you to cycle, ski and snowboard (amongst other things), the addition of skateboarding certainly feels like a natural evolution, and it’ll be interesting to see how authentically they’re able to bring the sport to life in-game.

You can check out some early gameplay footage below which should give you some idea of how the Riders Republic skate add-on will look and play when it launches this September.

With the NBA post-season now nearing its conclusion, NBA 2K23 has now been made available as one of the monthly titles on PS Plus, and if you’re a PS Plus subscriber then you’ll now have until July 3rd to get it downloaded.

The other titles available on PS Plus this month are Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Trek to Yomi, so there’s definitely plenty of quality content available for June, NBA 2k23 is our personal pick of the bunch though, and if you decide to give it a go? Maybe we’ll see you out there on the court!
