Introducing: Parker

Parker - This is PRKR EP

Parker is a new post-hardcore band hailing from Belgium, featuring former members of the bands Campus, When Hope Escapes, and Her Concept. Parker is a five-piece band, and the full lineup is as follows:

Steven Praet – Vocals
Nick Rondou – Guitar
Yannick Van Den Langenbergh – Guitar
Michiam Van Den Langenbergh – Bass
Bert Craane – Drums

With a similar sort of sound to the likes of Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, and Oh, Sleeper, the band is currently working on a debut EP, ‘This is PRKR‘, with a view to release the EP in May 2013. ‘This is PRKR‘ will consist of four tracks, and Parker will then be looking to hit the road in order to promote this new material.

First Bands Confirmed for Vans Warped Tour UK 2013

The first bands for the Vans Warped Tour UK have now been confirmed as it’s revealed that Rise Against, Billy Talent, Capture the Crown, Crossfaith, Itch, and Real Friends will all be performing at the two day event on November 16th/17th 2013.

Just like last year, in 2013 the Vans Warped Tour UK will be held at Alexandra Palace, London.

Further announcements are to follow as more bands are confirmed for the two day festival, already it is looking as though this year’s Vans Warped Tour in the UK will be one to remember though, and there are already some great bands and artists booked for it.

Weekend tickets are on sale now, and can be booked for a price of £84 per ticket here.

Electric Daisy Carnival Hits London in July

Electric Daisy Carnival, the world-famous electronic music event, will be heading to London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 20th July 2013 for one of the biggest shows to hit the UK this summer. The festival will feature some of electronic dance music’s biggest and most globally recognised talent, including headliners Tiësto and AVICII, as well as many more across one main stage and three arenas.

Taking full advantage of the vast space of the former Olympic Park site, you can expect the full carnival experience with carnival rides, art installations and hundreds of costume-clad performers.

Tickets will go on sale Tuesday April 9th at 10am, with an early bird price of £47.50 (plus booking fee), and there will also be a VIP Club Experience Package available for a price of £155 including booking fee.

Nirvana Frontman Kurt Cobain Died 19 Years Ago Today

It’s hard to believe it, but it’s now 19 years to the day since Nirvana frontman/guitarist Kurt Cobain committed suicide in Seattle, Washington, aged 27.

19 years on then and Kurt Cobain’s music continues to inspire many all around the world; Nirvana’s music still lives on well beyond Kurt’s 27-year lifespan, and the iconic 90s grunge band’s music still sounds just as fresh now as it ever did.

Regardless of what decade you were born in, Nirvana is no doubt a band that will have impacted upon your life in some way. Nirvana’s music has spoken to many throughout the years, something that is attested to in the fact that the band has sold in excess of 75 million albums worldwide over the years, with worldwide sales in excess of 30 million for the band’s classic ‘Nevermind‘ album alone. Kurt’s influence on modern music is huge; it has now been 19 years since his death, but his influence unquestionably remains, countless people are still inspired by Nirvana’s music, and Kurt Cobain continues to impact positively upon the lives of many.

Fall Out Boy Release New Song ‘Young Volcanoes’

Prior to Tuesday’s unveiling of the new video for ‘The Phoenix‘, it had been speculated that the band would potentially be releasing two new tracks/videos on that day; one for ‘The Phoenix‘ and the other for ‘Young Volcanoes‘. Whilst a video never materialised on Tuesday for ‘Young Volcanoes‘, the track has now been unveiled on the band’s SoundCloud account, and you can listen to this new Fall Out Boy offering below.

‘Young Volcanoes‘ becomes the third track to be revealed from the ‘Save Rock and Roll‘ studio album, following on from ‘My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark‘ and the aforementioned ‘The Phoenix‘.

Dawn of the Dead is, without doubt, one of my very favourite horror films of all time, so when I discovered that there’s someone out there offering custom painted Dawn of the Dead Converse All Stars, this definitely made me very happy.

The Dawn of the Dead poster is an absolutely iconic image for this incredible 1978 zombie horror film, and the fact you can now show your love for the film with these equally awesome Converse All Stars really is brilliant.
