Nirvana Frontman Kurt Cobain Died 19 Years Ago Today

It’s hard to believe it, but it’s now 19 years to the day since Nirvana frontman/guitarist Kurt Cobain committed suicide in Seattle, Washington, aged 27.

19 years on then and Kurt Cobain’s music continues to inspire many all around the world; Nirvana’s music still lives on well beyond Kurt’s 27-year lifespan, and the iconic 90s grunge band’s music still sounds just as fresh now as it ever did.

Regardless of what decade you were born in, Nirvana is no doubt a band that will have impacted upon your life in some way. Nirvana’s music has spoken to many throughout the years, something that is attested to in the fact that the band has sold in excess of 75 million albums worldwide over the years, with worldwide sales in excess of 30 million for the band’s classic ‘Nevermind‘ album alone. Kurt’s influence on modern music is huge; it has now been 19 years since his death, but his influence unquestionably remains, countless people are still inspired by Nirvana’s music, and Kurt Cobain continues to impact positively upon the lives of many.
