Senser – Resistance Now

August 29, 2009 by Rich Leave a Comment

Senser - Resistance Now‘Resistance Now’ is the powerful new single from the London based sextet that is Senser. Senser achieved fantastic success in the mid-90s when debut album ‘Stacked Up’ hit number 4 in the Official UK Album Chart, and the band has since gone on to release a further three studio albums.

Senser will release fifth studio album ‘How To Do Battle’ in October 2009, and ‘Resistance Now’ has been chosen as the lead single. With its crushing chorus, powerful guitar work, and excellent male/female dual vocal display; ‘Resistance Now’ is a track that is sure to impress many, and will no doubt be played at many a rock night in the coming months and years. The lyrics hit hard, the energy of the track is incredible, and as the band launches its way through this one, the music always here has a lot to offer.

A Firefarm and Peak ‘2 3 Clear’ remix is included here as a B-Side, a punchy little track that reminds me very much of The Prodigy. It’s a different kind of track to ‘Resistance Now’, equally effective in its own way though, showing Senser to be a band of great versatility with the ability to pull off strongly different styles and genres.

October 19th is a date to write down in your diary as that’s when Senser’s ‘How To Do Battle’ album is to be released, and judging by the quality of ‘Resistance Now’, it really is an album that you don’t want to be missing.

DJ AM Found Dead in his Apartment

August 29, 2009 by Rich Leave a Comment

dj-amAdam Goldstein, also known as DJ AM, has been found dead in his New York City apartment. Goldstein opened the DJ Hero launch party with Travis Barker back in June, and also contributed an original mix and is due to be a playable DJ in the Activision video game due for release in October.

Both Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein were involved in a plane crash back in September 2008 in which four people died. Barker and Goldstein were the only survivors of the crash, with Travis Barker suffering second and third degree burns.

Travis Barker is yet to comment on the death of DJ AM, he and Adam Goldstein were good friends however, and this news is sure to hit the Blink 182 drummer hard.

Sources suggest that drug paraphernalia was found at the scene, and according to the New York Post, the police are currently considering the possibility of an overdose.

Noel Gallagher Quits Oasis

August 29, 2009 by Rich Leave a Comment

With Oasis having pulled out of a gig in Paris at the last minute this evening, Noel Gallagher has decided to leave a post on the Official Oasis website, and inform all of his decision to quit the band.

There have been reports of problems in the band for some time now, and although many people no doubt saw this coming; it’s still a great shame to have lost the heart and soul of the great British rock band that is Oasis.

Noel Gallagher had the following to say in his post on Oasisnet.com:

It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan.
