I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer DVD CoverI Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer is coming to DVD on June 29th, a comedy horror co-directed by Stacey Edmonds and Doug Turner. The film stars Jai Koutrae, Aaron Scully, and Az Jackson amongst others, and features a psycho killer out for revenge for the bullying he suffered at the hands of a school cricket squad 20 years ago.

If you like your gore then you should enjoy I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer; it’s a low budget horror centred around Australian cricket, and has the killings and comedy required to provide for a quality viewing experience.

Doug Turner is not just the director, but the writer and editor here also, and he even had time to appear in the film as an actor (along with Stacey Edmonds).

The film acknowledges horror classics, even harking back to the film that arguably started off the slasher genre with its much known shower scene. If you know your slasher horror well then you’ll probably enjoy watching I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer, and if you also enjoy cricket then that should definitely add to the entertainment.

Anchor Bay Entertainment is the company that’s bringing this one to DVD in the UK, and as I said before; the film will be out on June 29th, so show your support for low budget horror, and be sure to get your hands on this one when it’s released.

One Eyed Monster Review

When it comes to the top names in porn; you just can’t get any bigger than Ron Jeremy. ‘One Eyed Monster’ is a comedy horror film featuring our favourite porn icon, and makes interesting use of his much known member. Aliens take over Ron Jeremy’s manhood, and his tackle detaches itself and goes on a killing spree, working its way through a cast of porn actors up in the mountains to record a new movie. Veronica Hart also features here, as well as a strong cast of actors which includes Amber Benson, Jason Graham, and Bart Fletcher (amongst others).

Although slow to start; ‘One Eyed Monster’ does provide a fair few laughs, and therefore provides for quite an entertaining overall viewing experience. The film in many parts relies on you using your imagination, and in this respect the action is carried out well, there are definitely times when the action is not so impressive however, times when the film feels a little lacking. With the good you also have to take the bad, but overall ‘One Eyed Monster’ does leave you feeling fairly satisfied, and the 93 minute experience of watching this film is a pretty enjoyable one.

The acting quality is reasonable and the jokes are definitely carried out well when they come, and in terms of films of this sort; ‘One Eyed Monster’ is probably one of the best. I felt that more could have been done with ‘Teeth’, and although the same is true here; I do feel that director Adam Fields has done a better job with ‘One Eyed Monster’ than Mitchell Lichtenstein did with ‘Teeth’.

Getting Ron Jeremy and Veronica Hart on board definitely helps add to the fun of it all with ‘One Eyed Monster’, and whilst the film is not spectacular, it is still pretty entertaining to watch. Like most comedy horror films it has its flaws, but you can certainly do a lot worse than ‘One Eyed Monster’ in this genre.

If you enjoy comedy horror films then ‘One Eyed Monster’ is definitely a film that is worth watching; it’s not a particularly groundbreaking effort from Adam Fields, but a watchable one nonetheless. The film will make you smile, and probably cringe at times too, it’s nice and light-hearted, providing for an entertaining, if unspectacular, 93 minutes of visual entertainment.

Special Features:-

- The Original One Eyed Monster: An exclusive interview with Ron Jeremy

- Going Deep: A look back with Ron Jeremy and Veronica Hart

- Confessions of a Dick Wrangler Trailer

Three new posters have now been released for the Michael Mann directed Public Enemies, a film that is all set to hit cinemas here in the UK on July 3rd.

The three posters feature the film’s three main stars; Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Marion Cotillard, and all three are really rather cool looking.

We’re now just seven weeks away from the release of Public Enemies, and it’s good to finally see some new posters. Hopefully the film won’t disappoint when it does finally get released, it’s definitely nice to have these new character posters to look at though, and from the looks of the trailers that have been released so far; we should be in for quite a treat with Public Enemies.

Here are the three new Public Enemies posters:

Family Guy Coming to the Big Screen?

Family Guy DVD CoverSuccessful animated TV series Family Guy is reportedly heading towards the big screen, with a Family Guy movie apparently in the pipeline for the future.

Family Guy has already spawned a direct-to-DVD film in the form of Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, but Seth MacFarlane now wants Family Guy to hit the cinemas, and confirmed this recently at an event arranged to celebrate the 100th episode of American Dad.

“Fox wants it. We know what we want to do with it. It’s just a question of finding the time,” said MacFarlane when speaking with Wired.com.

Beavis and Butt-Head did it in 1996, South Park did it in 1999, The Simpsons did it more recently in 2007, and now Family Guy is looking to do it also; make the transition from the small screen to the big screen, and hopefully do so with some degree of success.

The Family Guy TV series has arguably seen better days, the same could be said when The Simpsons Movie was released though, and given that Matt Groening was successfully able to pull it out of the bag with a very impressive film; there’s therefore a chance that Seth MacFarlane will be able to do it also.

It’ll definitely be interesting to see what can be done if a Family Guy film is made, and hopefully soon there’ll be more official news that Family Guy is indeed coming to the big screen.

The Lone RangerMike Newell, who is currently working on Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, is in talks to direct Walt Disney Pictures’ The Lone Ranger.

The film will star Johnny Depp, and according to ComingSoon.net; ‘begins with a group of Texas Rangers chasing down a gang of outlaws led by Butch Cavendish.’ The gang ambush the Texas Rangers, and one survivor is found by an American Indian named Tonto (Depp), who nurses the Ranger back to health. Tonto and the Ranger now team together to seek out the gang in a quest for justice.

It’s rumoured that George Clooney is also to star in the film as the Ranger, nothing has yet been confirmed about that though, so we’ll have to wait and see as to whether or not Clooney and Depp will be starring alongside one another in this one.

A release date is yet to be confirmed for Disney’s The Lone Ranger, sometime in 2010 is probably what we’re looking at here though, and more information shall surely be announced soon.

District 9 PosterFor those that are looking forward to seeing the Peter Jackson produced District 9; a teaser trailer is now here, courtesy of Apple.com.

It’s a science fiction film directed by Neill Blomkamp, and is due for release on August 14th. This is the first trailer that has been released, and at last we’re finally being provided with a visual clue as to what the film will offer.

The film definitely looks and sounds very promising, and although we’ll have to wait until August to see it in its full glory; it’s nice to get a taste of what it’s going to be like, and I’m personally expecting big things from this Peter Jackson production.

District 9 is based on the Neill Blomkamp short film Alive in Joburg, and is written and directed by Blomkamp.
