Star Trek Gets A New 3D Logo

Paramount Pictures has seemingly decided that the old Star Trek logo just wasn’t good enough, and as such a new 3D logo has now been created. I’m not too sure what Paramount had against the old logo exactly, and it’s hardly a massive change that has been made; it’s still the same font, they’ve just modernised it a tad and made it a little shinier.
Star Trek is all set to hit the cinemas in May 2009, so there are now just a few more months to go until the world is graced with a brand new Star Trek film.

From the director of The 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up comes Funny People, a comedy film written, directed and co-produced by Judd Apatow. The film stars Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen, and if you’ve enjoyed Judd Apatow’s films in the past then there’s a good chance that you’ll appreciate this one also.
Both Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen play the parts of comedians; Adam Sandler’s character George is highly successful in the trade, Seth Rogen meanwhile plays the role of Ira, a man that is yet to really make his mark on the industry. The film looks as though it’ll have its amusing moments, and whilst it probably won’t offer anything particularly new to its genre; it does look like it’s one that’s worth watching if you’re a fan of the film’s actors/director.
Funny People is due to receive a US release on July 31st, if like me you happen to live in the UK however then the film will be hitting the cinemas on August 28th. There’s still quite a way to go until the film is released; it does look as though it’s going to be a pretty decent one though, and I very much look forward to watching it.
I’ve been very impressed with all of the Seth Rogen films I’ve seen to date, and Adam Sandler also is another comedy actor that I’ve always been quite a fan of. I imagine that these two actors will work well together on screen, and from the looks of the trailer it definitely seems as though Funny People will have some strong humour to offer.

Official Battle for Terra Trailer

Battle for Terra, which was originally released in 2007 under the name of Terra, is to finally receive a large scale US release on May 1st 2009. Battle for Terra is a computer generated science fiction film which looks into the lives of Senn and Mala, two teenagers that live on the planet of Terra; a very peaceful planet until humans hit and disrupt the harmony. The voice of Senn is provided by Justin Long, Mala’s voice meanwhile is spoken by Evan Rachel Wood.
Directed by Aristomenis Tsirbas, the film has taken a great length of time to reach the masses of America; it’s coming soon though, and from the looks of the trailer, a very good film it is too. The animation looks to be excellent, and for those that love a strong visual display then Battle for Terra is sure to impress.
You may know Justin Long from his parts in such films as Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Accepted, and He’s Just Not That into You; you may also recognise him as the voice of Alvin in Alvin and the Chipmunks though, and he certainly has a fantastic voice for use in films such as these.
Battle for Terra is not likely to be a huge box office smash, it does look to be a good entertaining film though, and fans of science fiction/animation films should definitely seek to check this one out. The film definitely looks very promising, and the following is the official Battle for Terra trailer:
